At Leesburg Family Dentistry, it is our goal to provide the most effective and painless dental procedures possible. We are not only a family practice; we offer cosmetic treatments as well. We perform crown procedures, root canals and implant surgeries right here in our office instead of referring you elsewhere.
As well as offering routine cleanings and check ups and emergency visits as needed, we offer the following specialty services.
The newest addition to our cosmetic services, ClearCorrect is the clear and simple alternative to braces. It’s a series of custom-made, removable aligners that gradually straighten your teeth as you wear them, each aligner moving your teeth just a little bit at a time. ClearCorrect can treat a wide variety of issues that keep people from achieving their ideal smiles. Straighter teeth don’t just look better; they work better too. Poorly-aligned teeth can interfere with bite function, wear out quicker, and are more prone to cavities. Ask our dental professionals how ClearCorrect can help you.
Teeth whitening is ideal for people who have healthy, unrestored teeth and gums. We provide take home tray-based teeth whitening as well as in-office whitening.
Dental Bonding is a procedure in which a tooth-colored resin material (a durable plastic material) is applied and hardened with a special light, which ultimately “bonds” the material to the tooth to restore or improve the person’s smile.
Sometimes called a fixed partial denture, a bridge replaces missing teeth with artificial teeth and literally “bridges” the gap where one or more teeth used to be. Bridges can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain or a combination of these materials. Unlike a removable bridge, which you can take out and clean, a fixed bridge can only be removed by a dentist.
A root canal is a procedure used to remove an infection from a tooth and replace it with a rubber-like material called gutta percha. The canals are cleaned with very small instruments, filled with the gutta percha, filled with adhesive cement to close the opening and topped with a crown after healing is complete. This is the most successful manner of saving an infected tooth, and is used as an alternative to an extraction because you get to restore the tooth AND have it look and feel brand new!
A dental crown is a tooth-shaped “cap” that is placed over a tooth to cover the tooth to restore its shape and size, strength, and improve its appearance. The crowns, when cemented into place, fully encase the entire visible portion of a tooth that lies at and above the gum line. Click here to learn about our new single-visit crown service!
Dental implants are a popular and effective way to replace missing teeth and are designed to blend n with your other teeth. They are an excellent long-term option for restoring your smile. Dental implants are made up of titanium and other materials that are compatible with the human body. They are posts that are surgically placed in the upper or lower jaw, where they function as a sturdy anchor for replacement teeth.
A porcelain laminate (often called a veneer) is a thin shell of porcelain that covers the front of each tooth. They bond directly to the front of the tooth, similar to the way artificial fingernails work. Each porcelain laminate is a work of art carefully crafted in a laboratory to fit your individual smile. In the hands of a highly skilled dentist, porcelain laminates can provide you with an incredibly beautiful, natural smile.
